About The Production
Being produced in Fall of 2021, at the tail end of the Covid-19 pandemic, the production concept brought the story of Pinocchio back to its roots, told in the style of commedia del arte. While each student wore face masks, they also wore commedia masks and were encouraged to do big physical actions to show who their characters were. While performing the duties of a stage manager, I also stepped into the shoes of being a theatre educator, as many of the students were doing a production for the first time. I helped guide students through their stage rights and stage lefts, calling for line, as well as how to feel confident in themselves in their part in the show. This show was my first time behind the table, as well as what made me fall in love with theatre education.
